False Bay hike – Flickr pic of the day
Danie says, “This photo was taken on a hike up to Kalk Bay caves to look for geocaches. [Geocaching is an adventure game using GPS devices to find hidden containers outdoors.] The photo was taken on the way down from the Amphitheatre. After passing through the forest you are suddenly greeted with this stunning view over False Bay.
“I moved away from Cape Town in the 1990s for about three years and this really made me appreciate Cape Town. I think that we as Capetonians take Cape Town’s beauty for granted.
“It is the most beautiful city in the world and it is no wonder that tourists flock to visit it. There is just so much to do and see and to photograph. Getting out with a camera really helps you see the city from a different perspective,” he continues.
An active and outdoor lifestyle is part of the Cape Town mindset, and with such a wealth of natural beauty, it’s not hard to see why!
