Facebook Feedback Friday: your favourite viewing spot along the Argus Cycle Tour route
Stuart Buchanan is a journalist, blogger, and online writer for Flow Communications.
He grew up in Durban and has lived in various parts of South Africa and the UK, before finally settling on Cape Town. He often wonders why anyone would want to live anywhere else.
The Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour has become a regular highlight of Cape Town's busy events calendar, especially for the more sports-minded locals and international visitors. South Africans from around the country, as well as participants from overseas, all flock to the Mother City for the world's largest individually timed cycle race, which takes place this weekend. As such, finding a good spectator spot along the route has also become tradition for many Capetonians.
Yesterday evening we asked people who like the I ♥ Cape Town Facebook page: "What is your favourite viewing spot along the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour route?" Check out some of the responses we received below:
Peter Kelly If you like to see pain, 3/4 the way up Suikerbossie.
Linda Steele Just up the road from where I live ... I get up early, take a mug of coffee along and go and cheer for the cyclists just starting to feel Wynberg Hill.
Paddy Noble Beach road, Sea Point as they sprint finish, where do they find the energy?
Kathy Michell Noordhoek Farm Village ... bottom of Chappies
Renee Keet Kommetjie rd jus outside Ocean View entrance. Wish i was ther wit my braai

Venette de Wet The white beaches of Misty Cliffs ...
David Huisjen Simon's Town for sure, on the hill after the center, where middle of the pack riders smile as they chat about their struggle and determination to finish.
