Yesterday evening we asked people who like the I ♥ Cape Town Facebook page: "Where is your favourite 'phuza Thursday' spot in Cape Town?" (Phuza is the Zulu word for "drink") Having an after-work sundowner has become a popular pastime for many Capetonians, and of course, for our international visitors too!

There were many suggestions from around the Cape, but the most popular places were to be found on Long Street, and in Gugulethu, Camps Bay and Sea Point. Check out some of the responses below:

Vuyolwethu MaEro Manzana Dikana: Hangouts in Gugulethu, having braaied (barbecued) meat, then later to the live, funky, young, fresh streets of Long Street, then much later, sundowners in an uber cool cocktail lounge in Camps Bay by the beach!

Nolie Ntsoko: Soli's n Ace's pub every wensday n thursday with some spit n fish braai, kasi style waya waya

Zaah Zindlani: Mdlalo's tshisa nyama, with nyc deep house @ Imizamo yetu in Hout bay best meat as ever

Nandipha Madala: @ Ace's place tshisa nyama in Khayelitsha. Thursday its free fish braai

Jacobus Louw: Umtata lounge in Strand Lwandle is cosy and its relaxed and for nice place to take your girl out to also as i did it and have a nice time there.braai facilities and safe big screens for sport lovers and the hottest deep house music for the latest trends and the visitors got a nice treatment.will definately recommend it to anyone who visit Strand and surroundings
