Facebook Feedback Friday: your favourite jogging routes in Cape Town
Stuart Buchanan is a journalist, blogger, and online writer for Flow Communications.
He grew up in Durban and has lived in various parts of South Africa and the UK, before finally settling on Cape Town. He often wonders why anyone would want to live anywhere else.
For those training for the marathon, and even those just looking to get some exercise, Cape Town is certainly not short of scenic places to train. Check out a selection of comments below:
Lukhanyiso Lucas Bulembu: Upper Kloofnek Street towards Table Mountain #Mmmmmmm Beautiful Cape Town View#
Mandy Benson Briner: From The Pavilion – along the promenade towards Mouille Point – to the hotel school and back ... The best, dodging breaking waves and running through the sprinklers!!
Also. Along Victoria road to Camps Bay then back along kloof road – stunning scenery !
Ben Liebenberg: Up the mountain in St James by Ou Kraal entrance along the contour path. Awesome jog up to the top and back down
Karien Sturmair: Camps Bay to Llandudno back up Camps Bay Drive
Mark Roberts: rhodes memorial the old path to plum pudding hill then onto kings blockhouse then fire hut then around the contour path and up to devils peak, back down newlands ravine
André Hanekom: Surfers Corner in Muizenberg to St James and up Jacob's Ladder (ouch!) onto Old Boys' Drive and back to Muizenberg!!! #blessed
Andrea Deary: Besides the promenade being nice on a hot day. I enjoy a route through the Maynardville Park to the Constantia Greenbelt up to Kirstenbosch and back down through Bishops court. Enjoyed best at late afternoon so u hit B C at night.
Deanne Herbert: Bakoven to Llandudno and back. 14km of the best views imaginable.
Beni-Legend Kabuluku: Southern suburbs, constantia, bergvliet etc...I like jogging past expensive houses, it gives me motivation lol
Almut Tanja Boye: Blouberg down to Big Bay!! Always Table Mountain in sight......
Corey Erasmus: Kirstenbosch to Cableway via skeleton gorge. Amazing. Lionshead aswell but not really a challenge.
Erez Chanin: Fresnaye to Kloof rd to the end of camps bay then back on Victoria past Clifton then Saunders all the way across the beachfront, round the stadium up glengarrif to ocean view back to Fresnaye. About 10km+ and a run i miss so very much.
Others clearly had different ideas about what jogging entails:
Bradley Perez No-middleName: i normally run twice around the block and then put the block back under my bed.
Michael Muller: From the lounge to the fridge and back between overs!
