Facebook Feedback Friday: which is your favourite wine farm to visit on a wintry day in Cape Town?
Yesterday, we asked the fans of our Facebook page, I ♥ Cape Town: which is your favourite wine farm to visit on a wintry day in Cape Town?
We had over 250 comments, with some fantastic suggestions of farms in every wine valley in and around Cape Town, from Franschoek to Stellenbosch, Robertson and beyond! We couldn't possibly list them all, so visit our I ♥ Cape Town Facebook page to read through the comments – or leave a comment with your favourite.
Here are a few suggestions from our fans:
Bonnie Victoria McKay Larter: Fairview, not only wine but cheese too, what's not to love?!
Dianne BluZebra: Delheim.
Ron Field: Asara is the best.
Carlos Stankiewicz: Boschendal and Thelema.
Venita Crous: Delheim and Boschendal ...
Katarina Danielsson: Muratie!
Michiel den Hartogh: La Motte, Maison, Haut Cabrière, or Boekenhoutskloof for The Chocolate Block!
Annie Veggie Burger: Spier.
Niqui C Grover: Hartenberg on Bottelary Weg in Stellenbosch – Try the Cab/Shiraz blend and just about every other wine they produce. Then onto Simonsig for their Frans Malan reserve, Franciskaner and whatever else they have for the season. No contest (I lived in Durbanville).
Frikkie Herbst: Diemersfontein.
Bibi Madiba: Kleine Zalze ........ yeah.
Nils Krüger: Môreson, because of their Premium Chardonnay!
Mandi Masterson: Robertson and Groot Constantia.
Olivia Bell: Delaire, great food and nice big fire going :-)
Adriaan Bosch: Nitida.
Nadine Bond: Haute Cabriere.
René Adams: Villiera.
Zahnee Aisha: Chamonie in Franchoek.
Angela Giacomazzi: Graham Beck!
Lisa Brodie-Cole: Delheim, Asara, Spier, Backsburg plus some I may have forgotten after a wine tour or two.
Rossano Salamon: KWV is the best!
