Facebook Feedback Friday: where in the Mother City to take your Mom this Mother’s Day
Natalie Roos’ body was born in Johannesburg… but her soul was always Capetonian. At the age of 14, Natalie started work in the television industry, presenting popular local kids TV show, KTV. Ten years and another TV job later (presenting celebrity gossip show JIP on Afrikaans music channel MK), Natalie made the move down to Cape Town where she started her blog, Tails of a Mermaid (www.tailsofamermaid.com). Her love for the internet and all things communication-driven became a natural progression to a career in Social Media, where she worked in an agency managing the online presence, content and reputation of various brands.
Natalie’s passions include cats, communication and Cape Town.
Yesterday, we asked the fans of our Facebook page, I ♥ Cape Town: where in the Mother City would you take your Mom this Mother's Day?
The most popular answer we got from our fans was definitely Table Mountain. Amazing views of the city, great restaurants and hundreds of picturesque photo opportunities for you and your Mom to capture that special Kodak moment.
Here are a few more suggestions from our fans:
Caron Farrell: We are off to The Bungalow, Clifton.
Heide Krenauer: The Vineyard Hotel.
Leigh Joy Mansel-Pleydell: The Grand in Camps Bay.
Liviwe Nickviwe Gobeni: GrandWest Casino.
Vuyolwethu Makhumalo Tshaka: The V&A Waterfront.
Diane Jolly: Her favourite place, the Ocean Basket on Kloof Street.
Brionne Frankish: High Tea at the Mount Nelson Hotel.
Solly Mahlangu: Khayelitsha (town two) to MamJwarha braai meat.
Giovanna Sartor: The Italian Club.
Laverne Parfitt: Franschhoek.
Rachelle Paradise: The Bird Cafe. It's awesome.
Ashlyn Hendricks: I would most like to take her to the Table Mountain Restaurant. Then she would not only have the Table Mountain experience but also the amazing food offered.
Lynne Roberts: Myatt Cafe at the V&A Waterfront.
Janine Holmes: Edge Church, Edgemead.
Penny Smorenburg: We're heading to Cape Point Vineyards food market for an informal picnic.
Emile Etzebeth: On a helicopter ride around the Mother City.
Marlon van der Hoven: Moyo at Kirstenbosch Gardens.
Melanie Redelinghuys: Down to Boulders Beach in Simon's Town, where she grew up and enjoyed MANY fun days on boulders beach with her friends and also where she fell in love and still happily married after 51 years. I'd let her tell me stories and take me to her special places.
Hellen Meiring: The Meeting Place in Simon's Town.
Gail Warner: I'm taking mine to Madame Zingara.
Cassandra Steyl: Spier Wine Farm in Stellenbosch or Blue Peter in Blouberg at sunset.
