The Getaway Show, Africa’s leading travel and outdoor show, is just around the corner, set to take place from March 25 to 27 at Lourensford Estate in Somerset West, as well as later this year from September 2 to 4 at the Coca-Cola Dome in Johannesburg. If you’re an adventurous soul interested in travel and the outdoors, this weekend event will make for a perfect fresh-air outing with family and friends.

Visitors can expect interactive exhibits, a host of captivating demonstrations and shows, fun family activities, a special kiddies’ area, wine and photography workshops, as well as a few competitions and exciting prizes. Tickets are priced at R50 for adults and R30 for pensioners and students, while children under the age of 12 will be admitted free of charge.

Last year, the Western Cape leg of the Getaway Show saw between 12 000 and 15 000 visitors over a weekend period, and organisers hope this year will prove to be just as successful. The venue for this year’s event, Lourensford Estate, is famous for its scenic grounds, spectacular mountain views and long history.
