Last year’s Diwali Festival at the V&A Waterfront – A Cape Town Tourism Flickr photo essay
The Diwali Festival took place at the V&A Waterfront on October 11, 2009, drawing a crowd of appreciative spectators.
Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is celebrated by Hindus around the world and celebrates the victory of good over evil.
The celebrations at the V&A Waterfront included colourfully costumed performers who delighted the audience with traditional music and dance.
The programme ended with the dancers and musicians inviting the audience up on stage to boogie to the Bhangra beats, which both young and old could not resist!
