Fazielah Williams
Fazielah Williams has lived in and loved her Mother City since birth. Having lived all over the Peninsula during her childhood, she now calls the picturesque City Bowl home and likes nothing more than watching the sun set over Table Bay from the window of her apartment.
A lover of the arts and proud Cape Town fanatic, Fazielah began her writing career by spending many hours as a child conjuring fantastical stories that featured independent heroines from faraway lands who saved the Prince instead. This Capetonian princess has enjoyed stints as a magical arts PRO and TV publicist before finding her calling as a travel writer.
When not waxing lyrical about the Fairest Cape’s most loved attractions and activities and embarking on unexpected adventures, Fazielah can usually be found taking in a show at one of the City’s fabulous theatres.
The Design Indaba Expo 2012 had the Cape Town International Convention Centre teeming with creatives, design lovers and innovative thinkers from Friday 2 to Sunday 4 March, 2012.
This year’s exhibition featured a variety of local, forward-thinking stall-holders at stands that carried the A Better Future Through Design theme. From the impressive 2014 World Design Capital display by Cape Town Partnership (a revolutionary exhibit composed entirely of 16 800 pencils), to the talents of Cape Town College of Fashion Design students, and an interactive holographic in the centre of the exhibition hall, a futuristic feel prevailed.
Cape Town Tourism’s Capture Your Unexpected Cape Town sticker mural, featuring some of the city’s most valuable undiscovered gems, attracted plenty of visitors, who were further encouraged to participate by the opportunity to win a Nikon 500 Coolpix camera.
Here are a few images of Cape Town’s premier creative event:
