Rohit Sharma’s heroics on the field gave the Deccan Chargers a win against the Mumbai Indians at Centurion on Wednesday May 6, 2009.

Requiring 146 to win and seemingly cruising at 97/3 after 14 overs, they collapsed alarmingly, giving the Deccan Chargers a crucial 19-run victory. This loss puts the Mumbai Indians under severe pressure to claim a spot in the semi-final with just six matches remaining.

Sharma’s prowess earned him the man-of-the-match accolade. “I do work very hard on my bowling in the nets, so I’m very happy with a hat-trick,” he said.
