Dance like nobody’s watching – Flickr pic of the day
Sharon says, “I was born and raised in Cape Town, and even though I have been living in England for over four years, I spend at least two weeks every year in Cape Town. It is still my favourite city – the vibrancy, the amazing weather, the beaches, incredible food and wine, sunsets, mountains, and of course the friendliest and most wonderfully diverse people in the world.
“Photography being my passion, Cape Town is the perfect place to be when you’re behind the lens. To me, it is not only a place of beauty, it is the feeling I have when I am there – a feeling of being alive and free.
“Each year when we go back to Cape Town, we stay right on the beach, and we invite our closest family and friends from all over South Africa to join us during our stay. This year during April, my best friend and her very talented daughter joined us for a couple of days from Gauteng.
“It was only natural for me to pick up my camera during one of the most incredible sunsets, and to capture her in silhouette as she did what she loves best. She’s a very talented dancer. And the setting worked really well.
“To me, this image not only captures her beautifully, it also encompasses what Cape Town is all about – the feeling of being alive, vibrant, and free,” she continues.
