Colourful characters at the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour
About 35 000 cyclists from around the world, including seven-time Tour de France winner, Lance Armstrong, took part in Sunday’s Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour.
There was excellent spirit among the competitors, many of whom were more interested in the beautiful scenery and social side of the race, than their finishing time.
Below, we picture some of the more colourful characters who took part:

These three super heroes took on the 110km route in full regalia, despite the 26 degree celsius heat.

The rider on the right had plenty of energy before the race began, and with with winds of up to 50km/h along the route, he certainly needed it!

The wind was such that very few hairstyles stayed in place.
