Cape Town movie lovers looking for some mid-week entertainment should get to Da Capo, in Greenmarket Square. The restaurant is hosting classic movie nights every Wednesday, 19h00 for 19h30, in the month of September.
Classic movie nights launch this week, with the 1971 movie Get Carter, directed by Mike Hodges and starring Michael Caine, Britt Ekland and John Osborne.
Jack Carter (Michael Caine) plays the role of a London gangster who returns home to Newcastle after his brother is killed in a car accident. Carter does not believe that his brother’s death was an accident – he believes that he was murdered. He begins an investigation into the seedy underworld of Newcastle crime and what he discovers leads him down a path of brutal vengeance.
Guests attending the movie night will be treated to a scrumptious meal for R85.00 per person. Please note that it is a set menu and the price does not include drinks. Those with a sweet tooth can treat themselves to dessert for only R25.00 extra. A booking of a party of four or more gets each person a free 250ml bottle of our delicious house wine.
Do you have a great idea for a movie theme? Propose it to us and win; we’re still looking for movie proposals for the month of October. If your movie is chosen, we will treat you and a partner to one free movie and a meal and a 500ml bottle of our house wine. All you need to do is e-mail your suggestions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
