Celebrate spring with the V&A Waterfront
Fazielah Williams
Fazielah Williams has lived in and loved her Mother City since birth. Having lived all over the Peninsula during her childhood, she now calls the picturesque City Bowl home and likes nothing more than watching the sun set over Table Bay from the window of her apartment.
A lover of the arts and proud Cape Town fanatic, Fazielah began her writing career by spending many hours as a child conjuring fantastical stories that featured independent heroines from faraway lands who saved the Prince instead. This Capetonian princess has enjoyed stints as a magical arts PRO and TV publicist before finding her calling as a travel writer.
When not waxing lyrical about the Fairest Cape’s most loved attractions and activities and embarking on unexpected adventures, Fazielah can usually be found taking in a show at one of the City’s fabulous theatres.
The V&A Waterfront, Cape Town’s premier harbour-side shopping destination, is welcoming spring with a series of refreshing experiences and activities from September to November 30, 2012.
From cool scuba-diving packages at the Two Oceans Aquarium’s Kelp Forest to a glittering tour of the Cape Town Diamond Museum, and from an introduction to whisky tasting at the Cape Grace’s Bascule Bar to an energetic three-hour guided tour of the CBD with AWOL City Cycle Tours, the V&A Waterfront is brushing away the cobwebs of winter and stepping into spring with colourful fanfare.
My personal favourite has to be the mouth-wateringly great Cooking with Fynbos experience day package at the Table Bay Hotel, which includes a trip to the Baskloof Private Nature Reserve and a five-course tasting menu. I simply can’t wait to experience it!
Guys can indulge in a beer tasting at Den Anker and a Victorian Hot Towel shave at Mr Cobbs. For historical buffs and curious minds, the Donald Greig Art Gallery and Foundry is offering a free guided tour of the foundry every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 11h00, while the Maritime Museum and Chavonne’s Battery Museum are offering discounted entries.
The exciting news is that you could be the lucky weekly winner of one of these fabulous experiences simply by interacting with the V&A Waterfront team on Twitter (@V&AWaterfront). Go on, start tweeting today!
