The Cape Whale Coast Route, which was recently launched at a ceremony in Hermanus, is an excellent option for a family vacation. Connecting Gordon’s Bay to coastal towns like Hermanus, Pringle Bay, Sandbaai and Gansbaai to name a few, the route offers something for people of all ages, especially those who enjoy whale watching.
Gordon’s Bay is less than 40 minutes from Cape Town.
Some of the most popular activities along the Cape Whale Coast Route take place offshore, in the form of whale watching boat trips, as well as shark diving expeditions. Three Blue Flag beaches can be found on this route and there are also a large number of golf courses and wineries to try out.
Clinton Lerm, the chairman of the Cape Whale Coast Destination Marketing Organisation, describes the route as a “wealth of wonders, both natural and man-made, that can truly be found nowhere else in the world”.
