The DLF Indian Premier League cricket series is coming to the Mother City and Cape Town Tourism thinks it is a fabulous opportunity to market Cape Town and the many wonderful experiences offered by our members!

Cape Town will host eight of the 58 South African-based fixtures of the Indian Premier League series, including the opening match on April 18, 2009. The series of 20/20 cricket matches gets off to a flying start at Newlands Cricket Grounds and Cape Town Tourism intends to welcome the players, guests and visitors in true Cape Town style!

How can you get involved:

  1. If you are interested in accessing the KZN domestic market or high-end luxury travellers from India, please send your packages or specials to info@capetown.travel to be included on our IPL mini-website. Cape Town Tourism has launched a mini-website and will be advertising these special promotions through the IPL, in KZN and through dedicated eMarketing campaigns.
  2. Tickets are priced from R20 to R150 and can be purchased from the Computicket website.  If you manage to get tickets for the opening match, keep your eyes open for Cape Town Tourism and Zakumi. Take a snapshot and submit it to our blog (web@capetown.travel) to stand a chance to win two tickets to the match between the Kolkata Knight Riders vs Mumbai Indians on the 27th of April 2009.
  3. Cape Town Tourism will also coordinate a welcome campaign at the Cape Town International Airport, Newlands cricket grounds and relevant major attractions – if you are interested in participating with us please do not hesitate to contact Fatima on 021-4876800 or email her on Fatima@capetown.travel.
