Cape Town tells its stories at Spoken Word Festival
Singer and songwriter Keeno-Lee Hector will perform at the Spoken Word Festival in Cape Town
Feed your soul with musical poetry at the Spoken Word Festival at Cape Town’s Baxter Theatre from November 17 to 21, 2009.
The festival will showcase poetry, comedy and storytelling. Audiences can look forward to beat-box masters backing poetry, interesting collaborations and musicians who tell lyrical tales as well as enthralling social commentary.
Award-winning South African actress Quanita Adams will be the master of ceremonies, and there’ll be performances by Ewok, a spoken word artist and Durban-based actor; Teba, a ragga artist; and singer and songwriter Keeno-Lee Hector; in addition to JP and The All Elements Band.
The content of the shows is “learner friendly”, making them ideal for schools to attend.
