Cape Town hosts South African Blog Awards 2010

The South African Blog Awards 2010 were held at the One&Only Hotel in Cape Town on Saturday night, and attracted some of the country’s favourite online personalities.

Cape Town Tourism attended the awards as finalists in the Best Company Blog category and were the runners-up. Congratulations to Reconstructed Living Lab, who won this award.

The overall winner was watkykjy.co.za.

Western Cape Premier Helen Zille was the guest of honour and gave a captivating speech about how important online media is in shaping the future of South Africa. She impressed online experts with her knowledge of social networking tools like Twitter and Facebook, and raised many laughs during her speech.

The awards were presented by South Africa comedian Mamello Mumz Mokoena, better known as Mum-z.
