Cape Town flower seller – Flickr pic of the day

This beautiful photo of an Adderley Street flower seller was taken by our Cape Town. Live it. Love it. group member Koeshke.

Koeshke says, “Meet Fadwah, one of Cape Town’s renowned flower sellers. I love the flower sellers. Their colourful personalities fit perfectly with their beautiful flowers and they are always ready with a bright smile, a bunch of flowers and a ‘Flowers for the madam?’

“Posing and primping for the camera, Fadwah chose this one to be on Flickr. Thank you, Fadwah and your fellow flower sellers, for making even the dreariest of days in Cape Town colourful,” she continues.

Freshly cut flowers – including fynbos species such as king and pincushion proteas, depending on the season – are available from the friendly flower sellers in Adderley Street, where this trade has operated for the past 100 years.
