The Cape Town FIFA Fan Fest™ is where you can watch Saturday’s 2010 FIFA World Cup™ third- and fourth-place playoff match between Germany and Uruguay, all on Africa’s biggest screen.

There will also be live entertainment from musical acts such as the Rockets and Claire Phillips.

According to a City of Cape Town press release: “The Rockets are one of South Africa’s most sought-after R&B, pop and dance bands, both locally and abroad. Over the past 12 years, The Rockets have spent more than six months of each year performing outside of South Africa. International venues have included Australia, various countries in the Middle East, Seychelles, Morocco and other parts of Africa. They have supported many international acts including Usher, Alicia Keys, P. Diddy, Ronan Keating, Shayne Ward, Patrizio Buanne, the Spice Girls, Luther Vandross, Eddy Grant, Billy Ocean, Wet Wet Wet, the Manhattans and the O’Jays.”

The release explained that Phillips is Cape Town’s newest vocalist and songwriter discovery. “Hailing from the suburb of Belhar, she first began singing as a toddler, and learned to play the guitar while she was still young. Claire’s vocal range complements a repertoire which spans jazz, funk, soul and folk. She has opened for Freshlyground at Johannesburg’s well-known club, Bassline. She has also won a steady following in Cape Town, with regular performances at popular venues such as Zula Sound Bar.”

Her debut album Say My Name went on to win the category at the 13th Annual South African Music Awards.
