Cape Town canoeists – Flickr pic of the day
Hendrik says, “I work in the Century Square complex. The complex borders the wetland that was left after the construction of Century City, as a conservation requirement for the development.
“The wetland contains many plants and animals. There is a wonderful collection of wetland birds which make this their home.
“The canals that were created are regularly used by canoeists, most of whom live across the wetland in the newly developed residential area, or come for a paddle after the day’s work.
“I took the shot from the office balcony,” he continues.
Century City is located midway between Cape Town and the Bellville central business district. The development is a 250ha (618 acre) city within a city that combines office, residential, retail and leisure opportunities.
