Cape Point cliffs – Flickr pic of the day

This photograph of the cliffs at Cape Point was taken by our Cape Town. Live it. Love it. group member Rob Lith.

Rob says, “This photo was taken in 2002 with my Sony Cybershot before I got into digital SLR cameras. It was photos like this one that really inspired me to pursue photography as a more serious hobby.

“The colour of the water is what first caught my eye, and only after going through the day’s shots did I see how the composition came together with the mist in the distance merging into the sky.”

Cape Point is situated in the southern section of Table Mountain National Park. The park is internationally recognised for its extraordinary diversity of unique fauna and flora. With its sheer cliffs, steep slopes and sandy beaches, it is a place of spectacular beauty and rich biodiversity – all within a metropolitan area.
