Cape lights – A Cape Town Tourism Photo Essay

This photo is part of a group of special photos that I have. When I first arrived in Cape Town I saw the mountain lights and I had been waiting for that moment again. A few months later I was able to capture a moment that absolutely inspired me. The photo was taken at Signal Hill I waited for a few minutes until I located a car before taking the photo.

Now I think that this photo is mine and Cape Town’s: the perfect weather, the perfect light, the perfect landscape and a great shot.

We could name this photo the “Cape Sun Stadium”. It was a perfect shot taken at sunset. The lake on the golf course provided a great reflection of the moment! What a unique picture!

One of my “Cape Town Postcards”. After a day walking and shooting from Sea Point to Camps Bay I was blessed with one of my last photos of the day! The “workout” produced amazing results!

Whenever in Cape Town, visiting the V&A Waterfront is a must. Therefore, I have tried several times to capture a good frame of it – this was definitely one my personal bests!

Says Marcio Fernandes: “I’ve been a photography lover from an early age. My first contact with the world of photography was in 1993 when I did a short course developed by my primary school in Lisbon. Unfortunately it took me many years to return to photography. In 2009 I bought my first camera, a Fujifilm Finepix S5600.

From the outset I fell in love with landscapes and macro photography, which have become my strong points. I think that what differentiates me from others is my vision and the fact that I happen to live in a country rich in natural beauty.”
