CTT makes a tasty splash at the TOPS Soweto Wine Festival 2012 in photos
Fazielah Williams has lived in and loved her Mother City since birth. Having lived all over the Peninsula during her childhood, she now calls the picturesque City Bowl home and likes nothing more than watching the sun set over Table Bay from the window of her apartment.
A lover of the arts and proud Cape Town fanatic, Fazielah began her writing career by spending many hours as a child conjuring fantastical stories that featured independent heroines from faraway lands who saved the Prince instead. This Capetonian princess has enjoyed stints as a magical arts PRO and TV publicist before finding her calling as a travel writer.
When not waxing lyrical about the Fairest Cape’s most loved attractions and activities and embarking on unexpected adventures, Fazielah can usually be found taking in a show at one of the City’s fabulous theatres.
Wine lovers in Johannesburg were delighted by the viticultural information provided by Cape Town Tourism at the TOPS Soweto Wine Festival 2012, held at the University of Johannesburg's Soweto campus from September 6 to 8, 2012.
While the exciting competition to win one of 12 bottles of Durbanville Hills wine kept the crowds flocking to the Cape Town Tourism stand, manned by our ever-efficient events team of Fatima Borez and Lisa da Costa, visitors were informed of some of the Mother City’s forthcoming gourmet and beverage events, including the Bierfest and Vindaba in September, the FNB Whisky Live Festival in October and the Cape Town Festival of Beer in November, Taste of Cape Town in April 2013, the Table of Peace and Unity and the township wine event of the year, the TOPS Gugulethu Wine Festival, in May 2013.
The eighth TOPS Soweto Wine Festival was sponsored by DStv, City Press, among others. Cape Town’s winemakers were there too, proudly displaying their decadent drinks. These included: Groot Constantia, Nederburg and Vergelegen Wines.
Here are few of the tasty photos of Cape Town Tourism at the TOPS Soweto Wine Festival 2012.
