Bring “bags of love” to the next Muizenberg Moonlight Meander

Locals and visitors to the seaside town of Muizenberg are encouraged to take a beach stroll by the light of the moon this Saturday, October 23, as part of volunteer organisation Safer Together’s next Muizenberg Moonlight Meander.
Safer Together – which works toward more secure, more connected communities in the greater Muizenberg area – runs a number of local initiatives which you can support by spending just R5 on a candle and wind guard for Saturday’s walk. Ladies can lend further support by being part of the Bags of Love Project. Bring your unwanted handbags (whether clutch, evening, straw or shoulder) to the next Moonlight Meander, but fill them first with “care items” – lip ice, deodorant, Vaseline, feminine hygiene products, sweets, nuts, raisins and the like.
These “bags of love” are given out at Muizenberg Police Station’ Comfort Room, and go a long way in bringing comfort to abused women.
If you can’t make Saturday’s walk, but still want to contribute, your “bags of love” can be dropped off at Cape Town Tourism’s Visitor Information Centre at the Muizenberg Pavilion.
