Bon Jovi in Cape Town: photos
Fazielah Williams has lived in and loved her Mother City since birth. Having lived all over the Peninsula during her childhood, she now calls the picturesque City Bowl home and likes nothing more than watching the sun set over Table Bay from the window of her apartment.
A lover of the arts and proud Cape Town fanatic, Fazielah began her writing career by spending many hours as a child conjuring fantastical stories that featured independent heroines from faraway lands who saved the Prince instead. This Capetonian princess has enjoyed stints as a magical arts PRO and TV publicist before finding her calling as a travel writer.
When not waxing lyrical about the Fairest Cape’s most loved attractions and activities and embarking on unexpected adventures, Fazielah can usually be found taking in a show at one of the City’s fabulous theatres.
“Whoaah, we’re halfway there/Whoaah, livin on a prayer …”
If you still have chills running up and down your spine thanks to the crowd and Bon Jovi’s amazing a capella singalong to this popular hit, chances are you partied like a rock star with the legendary band at the Cape Town Stadium on Tuesday 7 May, 2013!
In what was surely the largest gathering of hardcore rock music fans since Linkin Park, last night’s stellar concert by even-hotter-in-person Jon Bon Jovi and his bandmates certainly made quite the impression with diehard fans.
A consummate performer who not only reads his audience well but looks like he is having the time of his life while doing so, Jon had the audience dancing like their lives depended on it to You Give Love A Bad Name, Wanted Dead or Alive, Because We Can, It’s My Life, Keep the Faith and more.
Having successfully seduced three generations of swooning fans since the 1980s, Jon quipped on stage last night: “I’m may not be as pretty as Justin Bieber or dance quite as well as Justin Timberlake, but I’ve been around longer than both of them combined and I ain’t going anywhere!”
Hear, hear, I say!
I can honestly say, without a doubt, that the Bon Jovi concert was one of the best I’ve been to in Cape Town. Any man that can do an encore with not one, but SIX songs (including the heart-wrenching Always) deserves my respect!
While I continue to daydream about Jon Bon Jovi laying me down on a Bed of Roses, you can enjoy these rocking photos of the concert:
