Koeshke says, “If you’ve lived in Cape Town for many years, you tend to become quite blasé about the natural wonder that we are fortunate to live in – until you start looking at it through the eyes of a tourist. Fortunately for us, we have many overseas visitors who force us to take a fresh look at the world around us.
“How fortunate we are to step out of our front door and have the sea on one side, the mountain on the other, the lake in front of us and, within a couple of hours’ drive, the desert at our backs. In between, we still have the beautiful Boland with its glorious vineyards and stunning views.
“Could there be a place that gives more?
“Cape Town’s extremes are legendary. Three seasons in one day – one minute you are trapped in a storm, the next minute the sun is shining and the wind has gone to bed. One minute you are looking at phenomenal beauty, and the next minute at the stark reality of abject poverty, and yet there is beauty to be found even there.
“Cape Town is the city that never stops giving. I am thankful to be a part of it.”
Do you have images of Cape Town you’d like to share with us? We’d love you to join the Cape Town. Live it. Love it. Flickr group!
