Bo-Kaap – A Cape Town Tourism photo essay
This week’s photo essay features the spiritual home of the Cape Muslim community, Bo-Kaap. Rows of brightly coloured houses at the foot of Signal Hill make Bo-Kaap a big attraction for tourists in Cape Town.

The picturesque suburb of Bo-Kaap is known for its multicoloured facades. From green to orange, pink to purple and blue, Bo-Kaap truly is a “rainbow suburb”.

With the 2010 FIFA World Cup just around the corner, soccer has never been this popular in South Africa! This young boy is clutching his soccer ball as if it is his most valuable possession.

What is life without true friendship? These two girls, who live next door to each other in Bo-Kaap, say they have been friends from the moment they were born.

Doing your laundry in winter in Cape Town can be a tricky affair. Luckily, there have been plenty of sunny days!
