L’Omarins Queen’s Plate 2013 – Flickr pic of the day
The L'Ormarins Queen's Plate, run in January each year at the Kenilworth Racecourse, is the precursor to the biggest event on Cape Town's racing calendar, the J&B Met. The L'Ormarins Queen's Plate is run over 1600m and was won this year by the Summerhill four-year-old colt, Variety Club, ahead of Jackson in second place and Pomodoro in third. This year the J&B Met takes place on Saturday, February 2.
Says Rebok: "The L'Omarins Queen's Plate is one of the Cape’s most prestigious horse racing events." But, he adds, there are many other things that he loves about Cape Town and the Western Cape province. "For me, the Western Cape with its winelands is unique. Here, you get the best wine and dine experience in the world."
