5 Ultimate Fashionista Pictures from Fashion Week Cape Town
A swashbuckling word-nerd and life-time student of the creative edge, Alessandro spends his time cooking up funky stories and getting his teeth kicked out at Thai Boxing. His geekiness comes in useful where he gets put to work fashioning digital content that sizzles. When not searching for the perfect metaphor, Alessandro hunts for the quirky, the arresting and the powerful, since following Dr Seuss’ maxim you gotta:
“Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the THINKS you can think up if only you try!”
This weekend at the tip of Africa some of the finest fashion on the continent came out to play under the adoring lights of the paparazzi, as the Mother City played hostess to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town and all of her most glamourous fashionistas.
We were there front and centre to bring you exclusive pics of some of the most gorgeous outfits of the night!
Here are 5 of ultimate fashion creations from the weekend's festivities:
Beloved South Africa born designer Kobus Dippennaar completely awed the crowds with his signature evening gowns and bridal wearing, showing off saturated tropical tones and daring shweshwe fabrics, combined with classical, vintage lines. Wow!
Born in Cape Town in 2009, the Danielle Margaux label combines feminity with a touch of splendor. Her elegant and whimsical dresses had a hint of Japenese, with elongated shapes synchronised with classical forms.
Craig Port brough his celebrated laid-back glamour to his male-centric collection, blending pastel with exquisitely tailored shorts and tops to bring the romance of summer to the runway.
The South African fashion label simply blew us away with its artistic luxury and sophistication, with gorgeous feminine silhouettes captured in luxe textures and fabrics reminicient of a holiday club.
Famed Cape Town designer Gavin Rajah's work is hugely respected locally and internationally, where he has become a spearhead for luxurious and skillful South African design. His finale was entirely as magnificient as could be expected, as rose petals fell from the sky on his Japanese-inspired collection.
