Cape Town will be hosting the 2010 final draw on December 4, 2009 and it’s bound to increase ticket sales and get Capetonians excited about seeing their favourite soccer stars again.

Los Angeles Galaxy player David Beckham and Argentina coach Diego Maradona have been invited to attend the week-long event.

Up to 2 000 visitors plus qualifying team coaches and some of their players are expected for the draw, which divides the 32 teams into groups.

According to an article in The Star on July 31, 2009, Danny Jordaan, CEO of the local organising committee, said: “The fact that the US president indicated that he will be coming to the World Cup in 2010 has also created high interest in the US.”

Let’s show them the true spirit of Cape Town!
