The World’s Most Beautiful Marathon

Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon group along Chapman’s Peak Drive, photo by Deon Gurling The ultra marathon, now in its 41st year, once again lived up to its moniker as the world’s most beautiful race, as thousands of runners pounded the scenic route from Newlands, across the beautiful but difficult Chapman’s Peak and down towards the finish line back at the University of Cape Town.

Mabhutile Lebopo, photo by Deon Gurling Mabhutile Lebopo from Lesotho won the 41st Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon in 3:06:22. Second place went to Moeketsi Mosuhli and third to Teboho Sello, both also from Lesotho.

A spectacular Cape Town day for the 2010 Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon

Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon route, photo courtesy Shawn Benjamin Photography A large crowd gathered at the University of Cape Town this morning, to welcome the winner of the 41st Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon, Mabhutile Lebopo, across the finish line. Lebopo, from Lesotho, ran the 56km race in a time of 3:06:22. Second place went to Moeketsi Mosuhli and third to Teboho Sello, both also from Lesotho. Olesya Nurgalieva of Russia won the women’s race in 3:41:53.

Cape Town International Jazz Festival Community Concert - A Photo Essay

Rubain, who started playing music in his local church at the age of seven, set up the Jonathan Rubain Band three years ago. They are definitely a name to watch.
