According to News24.com, earlier today, two trucks overturned on the N1 under the Koeberg Interchange. The N1 was shut down and all major routes out of the city centre are heavily congested as a result.

Table Mountain Cableway introduces new ticket system

There’s one coming up soon: a film called Iron Ladies of Liberia will be screened at the Iziko South African Museum in central Cape Town at 13h00 on August 9, 2009 – National Women’s Day. It will also be shown on August 10, at 13h00. Wathint’ abafazi wathint’ imbokodo! The phrase, “you strike a woman, you strike a rock”, tells us of the strength, spirit and courage that African women possess.

For the uninitiated, the vuvuzela is a plastic horn usually blown by football fans at matches. Spring’s in sight, but Aquarium winter special’s still on

Photo courtesy Marti McFly There is no denying it – the shift has happened. Nature is getting ready for the big bang of spring. I’ve heard from a reliable source that the magnificent flowers on the west coast and in Namaqualand are already rearing their orange, white, pink, purple and yellow heads. The winter rains have started to turn the burned vegetation against Table Mountain into a green patchwork quilt.
