20 Days to go to FIFA World Cup™ kickoff!

Photo by Skye Grove Team Cape Town welcomed the International Marketing Council (IMC) roadshow to the Mother City today for the 20-day count-down celebration at Athlone Stadium, a training venue for the 2010 FIFA World Cup™. It’s almost like the city knew she was on show and produced a gorgeous, sunny, wind-free day – perfect to fly the flag for South Africa. The people of Athlone didn’t disappoint – they turned out in full colour to welcome the IMC to the most beautiful city in Africa.

Cape Town celebrates 20 days to go

It is now just 20 days until the start of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™. Various festivities were held today in Cape Town to celebrate this milestone.

Loeries deadline extended

The deadline for 2010 Loerie Award entries has been extended until June 14 – although work received before May 31 can still avoid a 5% late fee. All work flighted between June 1, 2009 and June 14, 2010 is eligible for entry.

Klapmuts is about 30 minutes outside of Cape Town City Bowl and the drive there takes you through some of Cape Town’s famous Winelands such as Durbanville, Stellenbosch and Franschoek. One of the village’s main attractions is Butterfly World, home to monkeys, exotic birds, reptiles as well as butterflies, making it a great place for families to visit.

Cape Town FIFA Fan Fest construction begins

The FIFA Fan Fest at Grand Parade is now under construction. Photo courtesy Danie van der Merwe Construction has begun on Cape Town’s FIFA Fan Fest situated at the Grand Parade. When complete, the 25 413m2 area will serve as the city’s official entertainment hub for the duration of the soccer festival.

Bafana Bafana’s Cape Town Stadium fixture moved

Stormers semi-final tickets on sale tomorrow

These tickets will go on sale on Tuesday (May 18) morning and are likely to sell out very quickly.
