The Mother City sure knows how to host Africa’s Grandest Gathering – this past weekend; the Cape Town International Convention Centre was buzzing with the sultry sounds of the Cape Town International Jazz Festival from Friday 28 to Saturday 29 March, 2014.
If it’s February in #lovecapetown, you know it’s time for the social event of the year, the J&B Met 2014. This popular horseracing and fashion-forward event will once again be held at the prestigious Kenilworth Racecourse in the Southern Suburbs on Saturday 1 February, 2014.
Hot days, sunny skies, gorgeous sunsets and white sandy beaches naturally lend themselves to cool summer entertainment in gorgeous Cape Town. If there is one thing I love more than delicious cocktails and sexy people watching, it’s being entertained in the fun, flirty Mother City and this season, there is plenty to keep us all amused. Here’s the thing I love most about my job: I get to hang out with some of the most interesting visitors to our beautiful Mother City and the coolest by far are the Vagabrothers, winners of MyDestination’s Biggest Baddest Bucket List competition, who jetted into Cape Town from Wednesday 30 October to Wednesday 6 November, 2013.
There is something about sipping a chilled glass of premium white wine on a bright, sunny day, surrounded by acres and acres of gorgeous greenery that simply screams summer in the Cape Winelands. With our rich and tasty viticultural history and endlessly beautiful estates, it’s quite difficult to choose my favourites but here are my top three Summer Winelands spots:
Cape Town’s theatre-makers, actors, media and dignitaries were out in full force and dressed to the nines for the 49th annual Fleur Du Cape Theatre Awards at the Baxter Theatre on Sunday 16 March, 2014 and it was a night of big wins for the Mother City’s top performing shows!
Africa’s Grandest Gathering is about to take the Mother City by musical storm and one thing is for sure: the Cape Town International Jazz Festival 2014 is set to be the best yet!
