Virgin Atlantic brings Rick Astley to 80s Rewind Festival in Cape Town
If you were a neon-colour T-shirt, shoulder-padded jacket, leg warmer-wearing teenager in the 1980s, chances are you swooned every time pop idol Rick Astley sang Never Gonna Give You Up.
On Wednesday, October 31 and Thursday, November 1, 2012, Astley, along with icons Belinda Carlisle, ABC, Nik Kershaw, Imagination and more will be at the Grand West Casino and Entertainment World’s mega entertainment venue, the Grand Arena, for the Virgin Atlantic 80s Rewind Festival.

Freshlyground rocks at 2012 Kirstenbosch Old Mutual Summer Sunset Concert
The line-up of the annual Kirstenbosch Old Mutual Summer Sunset Concerts tries to cater to everyone’s taste, with many favourite artists returning to the stage.
One such band, Freshlyground, played one of the last few concerts for this season’s summer sunset concerts at one of Cape Town’s favourite spots, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, on Sunday March 18, 2012, where the talented group energised the crowds with their beats.
Doodsnikke at the Baxter Theatre’s Flipside
Doodsnikke, the Afrikaans adaptation of acclaimed actor and writer Sam Shepard’s 1978 Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Buried Child, is currently showing at the Baxter Theatre in Rondebosch.
This production, starring local theatre legends Gys de Villiers, Anna-Mart van der Merwe, Oscar Petersen and Ivan Abrahams, and rising talents Albert Pretorius, Travis Snyders and Thenjiwe Stemela, will run until 5 May 5,2012.

Road Closures for the 2012 Cape Town International Jazz Festival
Cape Town’s musical shores are infused with the sounds of the 13th annual 2012 Cape Town International Jazz Festival this weekend, Friday 30 and Saturday 31 March, 2012.
This year’s sold-out event features the crème de la crème of the jazz world, including international greats James Ingram and Steve Tyrell, as well as local Hugh Masekela and Zamajobe.
