Inspired by Bogota’s Ciclovia and projects in other cities like San Francisco and Jakarta, Open Streets in Observatory will see the usually traffic-congested Lower Main Road collectively transformed from a car-dominated road to a people-friendly public space. -

Ten good reasons to go golfing around Cape Town
Golf in South Africa began in 1885 when Lieutenant-General Sir Henry D’Oyley Torrens, commander of the British garrison stationed in the Cape founded the Royal Cape Golf Club. Well over a century later the course has stood the test of time and remains one of the Cape’s premier golfing destinations. A relatively flat course, it weaves through avenues of trees and water features which add to the appeal and challenge of the game.

I am so old-fashioned that I still believe that word of mouth is as important as word of mouse. My following my father’s advice that “you mustn’t be selfish – you must allow other people to meet you” of course enhances this!
