Why Rob Vember loves Cape Town
Rob Vember is a radio DJ and proud Capetonian. He grew up in Cape Town and studied in Grahamstown, where, working at the campus station, he was bitten by the radio bug. Returning to the Mother City to join the DJ line-up on Heart FM, he then made the move to Johannesburg to become part of the 5FM team, where he has been for the last few years. He recently made the move back home to continue presenting his weekday show from 5FM’s Cape Town studios. We asked him what he loves about the city. -

I first met Hildegard von Arnim from the legendary vineyard of Haute Cabrière in Franschhoek, on a houseboat in the middle of the Chobe River between Namibia and Botswana. “You must come and visit us one day,” she said, as we watched elephants bathing and playing.

Lady Gaga brought 80 pieces of luggage with her. I only brought one, but then I wasn’t staying in the Presidential Suite. Not that it mattered, because the service with a smile and superb style is given to all guests at the multi-award-winning The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa at Oudekraal in Cape Town.

The Infecting the City arts festival: a review
On Friday 15 March 2013 Cape Town Tourism’s Tourism Services team made their way down to Cape Town Station to experience the public arts festival, Infecting the City. The event is held annually in public spaces across the city centre, and is free and accessible to the public.
