World Tourism Day on Friday 27 September, 2013 was an auspicious occasion for #LoveCapeTown‘s wonder of nature, Table Mountain , as it celebrated its new status as co-signee of the Responsible Tourism Charter with the City of Cape Town and unveiled a large picture frame, which provides an iconic view of the mountain from the V&A Waterfront.
The V&A Waterfront is South Africa’s oldest working harbour and the country’s most visited cultural destination in #LoveCapeTown, attracting millions of visitors each year.
On Tuesday 24 September,2013, the weather played along beautifully and the smell of good old, South African braai meat was in the air all around Cape Town. If there’s one thing South Africans love to do, it’s braai, and by “braai” we obviously mean barbeque. I’m a big fan of Cape Town. I’ve had the luxury of living in a few other cities so I feel I can make a fair comparison, but every so often I need to get out of the Mother City. Recently, I picked Paternoster as my weekend destination, and before my girlfriend even had time to say “It’s the weekend!”, we were off.
Snow in Cape Town is a rare and exciting sight and while there’s nothing worse than being stuck at work or in another another city when all you want to do is build a snowman, at least you can share in the excitement via social media.
