There’s something about the ice rink. Whenever I go there, and it’s not very often at all, I feel genuinely happy in a very child-like way. It reminds me of my childhood and when my mom used to take my sister and me there. And I firmly believe that everyone should make a point of going at some point or another.
Picture the scene – a softly lit wine cellar full of barrels, a hound sleeping on the floor, a table set with glasses and a huge platter of bread, olives, olive tapenade, olive oil, cheese, salami, mixed nuts, biltong and droëwors, bottles of some of the finest wines in the Hemel-en-Aarde valley, and a tasting led by the wine-maker Peter Finlayson.
