Just 90-minutes’ drive outside of Cape Town, deep in the Cape Winelands, lies the hidden gem that is Tulbagh; a sleepy rural village nestled in a mountainous valley, perfect for weekend getaways regardless of the season. With its natural beauty and rich history, Tulbagh is just aching to be discovered and explored. With a wealth of activities to take part in and loads of unique places to stay, here are some of my favourite Tulbagh gems:
American rockers OneRepublic will return to Cape Town as part of their ‘Native’ world tour next year. Remember, tickets to the show are available from Computicket at all of Cape Town Tourism’s Visitor Centres, including in the City Centre, Blaauwberg, Simon’s Town, Cape Town International Airport, Somerset West and Muizenberg. Get them quick to avoid disappointment!
A visit to Cape Town is not complete without a drive out to the Helderberg region of the Cape – the areas around Somerset West, Gordon’s Bay and the Strand, that lie under the shadow of the Helderberg Mountains (Afrikaans for “clear mountain”).
