As you make your way from Cape Town to Cape Point, you pass through the quaint harbor village of Kalk Bay, winding along through the naval-themed Simon’s Town and around the bend past Smitswinkel Bay. To your left, a jewel-coloured bay overlooked by a slope dotted with ramshackle houses takes your breath away. Just past this, on your right, lies the entrance to the SANParks Smitswinkel Bay Tented Camp.

World Tourism Day on Friday 27 September, 2013 was an auspicious occasion for #LoveCapeTown‘s wonder of nature, Table Mountain , as it celebrated its new status as co-signee of the Responsible Tourism Charter with the City of Cape Town and unveiled a large picture frame, which provides an iconic view of the mountain from the V&A Waterfront.
The V&A Waterfront is South Africa’s oldest working harbour and the country’s most visited cultural destination in #LoveCapeTown, attracting millions of visitors each year.
Our #LoveCapeTown blogger, Abigail King , has been in Cape Town for a little over a week now experiencing our hometown through the eyes of locals, from the City Centre and Bo Kaap to Langa and Masiphumelele.
