There are many iconic women in South Africa’s history yet very few have been honoured and immortalised in sculpture but that is all set to change with Wonder Women, a recognized World Design Capital project, an initiative that plans to place sculptures of South Africa’s heroines along the Fan Walk in Green Point.
Cape Town’s theatre-makers, actors, media and dignitaries were out in full force and dressed to the nines for the 49th annual Fleur Du Cape Theatre Awards at the Baxter Theatre on Sunday 16 March, 2014 and it was a night of big wins for the Mother City’s top performing shows!

The Castle of Good Hope, a Cape Town landmark, is a prime example of a “star fort”. Built between 1666 and 1679 by the Dutch East India Company, it’s the oldest existing colonial building in South Africa. Its position marks the original shoreline before years of land reclamation changed the Table Bay coastline.
