Two Oceans Marathon Results 2011: George Ntshiliza triumphs

The 2011 Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon was won by George Ntshiliza from the Eastern Cape, who completed the 56km race in 03:08. Second place went to Motlhokoa Nkabutlane (Lesotho), while Tsokang Maine (Lesotho) finished third to complete the world’s most beautiful marathon podium. The women’s event was won by Oleysa Nurgalieva (Russia), with her twin sister Elena, in second place and Mamorollo Tjoka (Lesotho) claiming third prize.

The main race of the 2011 J&B Met got some 50 000 hearts racing at Kenilworth Racecourse as the thoroughbreds and jockeys battled it out for the R2.5 million prize money. The Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour 2013: preparing for a ride less ordinary

It is that time of year again – the clock is winding down to the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour on Sunday 10 March, 2013, and the kilometres are adding up on our bike and trailer. After negotiations with the organisers, the rules were altered and Damian Gower, my 14-year-old son who is quadriplegic, will be able to participate – towed in a trailer attached to my bike. We will be riding in support of the Chaeli Campaign, to raise funds and awareness.

Both ancient ships and hi-tech yachts have charted their course along these ocean lines. Pedro Cabral, the 15th century Portuguese explorer, was on his way to the Cape of Storms (named so by Bartolomeu Dias, another Portuguese explorer of the age, and one of Cabral’s contemporaries) when he landed on the coast of Brazil.
