This Africa Day, Cape Town’s vibrant locals and visitors will be taking to the streets ... the Opens Streets in Observatory, that is, on Saturday May 25, 2013. Inspired by Bogota’s Ciclovia and projects in other cities like San Francisco and Jakarta, Open Streets in Observatory will see the usually traffic-congested Lower Main Road collectively transformed from a car-dominated road to a people-friendly public space. -

Road Closures for 2012 Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon
Thousands of participants and spectators are set to descend on picturesque Cape Town for the 2012 Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon this Easter weekend, April 6 and 7, 2012.
Known as “the world’s most beautiful marathon”, this year’s event will take runners on a scenic tour of the Peninsula, with the Half Marathon set in the Southern Suburbs and the Ultra Marathon along the Chapman’s Peak Route.
