A holiday is not a holiday without a little time for pampering, a little soul food. With creature comforts in mind, we’ve come up with a list of top-class spas that promise to relieve the stresses of a jam-packed travel itinerary (or if you’re Capetonian, just the stresses of everyday life) in a host of different ways. Enjoy!
The Ginkgo Spa and Wellness Group prides itself on its intimate therapies, which are modelled on the beauty, healing and rejuvenation secrets of ancient cultures. The group also specialises in the relaxing principles of touch therapy. You’ll find Ginkgo spas at the Erinvale Hotel in Somerset West, the Steenberg Hotel in Constantia and the Winchester Mansions Hotel in Sea Point.
The Suntra Spa at 15 on Orange offers a range of speciality facial treatments as well as an extensive array of body massages, exfoliation treatments, wraps and grooming essentials. The spa promises patrons the very best holistic, therapeutic and aesthetic care using the latest technology.
The Sanctuary Spa at the Twelve Apostles Hotel is set in the mountains that made Cape Town famous. A wide range of treatments, including those inspired by the region’s indigenous fynbos, and a Rasul chamber (in which you’ll receive mud treatments) make the spa a popular choice for visitors.
The One&Only spa, located on Dock Road at the V&A Waterfront, promises a rejuvenating pampering session in an oasis of serenity. Touted as the most expansive spa in the Mother City, it offers a variety of customised, holistic experiences, ranging from pure indulgence to unique wellness journeys.
The Librisa Spa at the Mount Nelson Hotel is home to world-class spa treatments, many of which draw their inspiration from Africa. Treatments are available for men and women, and treatments specially designed for “young spa enthusiasts” are available for children.
The Camelot Spa Group operates from three locations in the Mother City. The spas offer a wide range of treatments in tranquil environments that are guaranteed to rejuvenate even the weariest of souls. Find Camelot Spas at the Table Bay Hotel in the V&A Waterfront, Mandela Rhodes Place in the city centre and the Lagoon Beach Hotel in Milnerton.
Durbanville’s Pure Day Spa is committed “to promoting a sense of well-being, relaxation and vitality” for guests. Located in the Cape’s famous winelands, Pure Day Spa offers city dwellers a tranquil escape just minutes from the city centre.
