Watch or participate as the speed freaks tear up the track at Killarney.
The Killarney Race Track is in Tableview, about 30km (18 mi) from the Cape Town CBD. It was first used for racing on in 1947 and the track was rebuilt in 1959/60 to conform to the standard for the 1500cc Formula One cars of the time.
The track is the home of Fantastic Racing, a company which offers the opportunity to learn how to drive and handle a supercharged Reynard single-seater race car around the circuit.
The Fantastic Racing event is ideal for individuals, corporate events, entertaining, networking and team building or anyone wanting a day to remember. The experience is designed for maximum enjoyment and the events team is on duty to ensure that all participants have a fantastic half or full day out. Event packages start from R2 500 (excluding VAT) per person. For more information visit www.fantasticracing.com or contact Bianca at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
The Western Province Motor Club holds its monthly main circuit races at Killarney on Saturdays. The track is open from 08h00 to 17h00, and for between R40 and R70 you can watch the speed freaks tear up the track.
Karting and short-circuit races are also held at the track.
There is a club house, with a restaurant that is open even on days when there is no racing. The track is also available for hire for functions and film shoots, so you might find yourself becoming an extra in a movie.
