Cape Town Stadium
Cape Town Stadium hosted eight matches during the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ under the name Green Point Stadium. This included the quarter-final between Germany and Argentina, as well as the semi-final between the Netherlands and Uruguay.
The stadium, which has a capacity of 55 000, now hosts a variety of soccer and rugby events, as well as international music concerts. Ajax Cape Town play their Premier Soccer League (PSL) home games at Cape Town Stadium and visiting football fans are encouraged to bring a vuvuzela along to one of these matches to experience the atmosphere.
When U2 played at Cape Town Stadium in February 2011, some 72 000 people were accommodated on the field and in the stands.
Cape Town Stadium is now open for public tours. You can also visit the Green Point Urban Park just outside the stadium.
