Visit the Alphen Antiques and Collectables Fair and the Kirstenbosch Craft Market, where dealers, décor divas and antique collectors gather in search of good bargains.
The Alphen Antiques and Collectables Fair usually takes place at the Alphen Centre, opposite Constantia Village, on the second and fourth Sunday of every month (unless otherwise advertised).
Items on sale range from jewellery and watches to coins, medals, glass, ceramics, porcelain, silver, toys, books, militaria, paintings and small furnishings.
Come browse for a few hours or find out about selling some antiques of your own. The fair takes place between 10h00 and 16h00 and entry is free. Ample parking is available and refreshments are plentiful.
The Kirstenbosch Craft Market takes place in the grounds of the stone cottages, on the corner Kirstenbosch Drive and Rhodes Avenue, opposite the main gates to Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden.
About 200 crafters are on hand to woo shoppers with an interesting array of hand-crafted goods. Refreshments and pony rides for children are also available.
Bookmark the last Sunday of each month from 09h00 to 15h00, except during June, July and August.
The markets leading up to Christmas are often the best, with crafters making an extra-special effort to market their best wares.
