The award-winning Cavendish Square, www.cavendish.co.za, in Claremont is one of Cape Town’s most upmarket shopping centres, and is home to more than 200 stores including shops specialising in clothing, outdoor and camping paraphernalia, computers, homeware, shoes, accessories and much more.
The centre boasts 16 state-of-the-art cinemas as well as about 20 restaurants and coffee shops serving a wide range from fast food to exclusive cuisine and catering for all appetites.
The mall is particularly abuzz in December, when it boasts an enormous, multi-storey Christmas tree in its centre that’s worth seeing.
A free shuttle service will collect you at “Cavendish”, as it’s often abbreviated to, and drop you off at your hotel, Kirstenbosch, or anywhere within the Southern Suburbs.
To find out more about shopping in this area or across the city, contact the Cape Town Tourism Visitor Information Centre.
